About us
Jewish women have always had a unique role to play in fostering community. As individuals, we each have something to contribute to our community. Through a deeper understanding of our Jewish women's spirituality we are able to meaningfully contribute to our Jewish community while bringing warmth and inspiration to our own daily lives.
At the Jewish Women's Circle of Grand Rapids, we are dedicated to sharing and exploring our Jewishness while fostering friendship and community growth.
All Jewish women are welcome regardless of background, knowledge, or level of observance.
Pre-Shavuot Floral Workshop
What a special evening surrounded by Jewish women of Grand Rapids! We enjoyed champagne, cheesecake, and Nechamy's enlightening talk about Shavuot. Thanks to Renee from Southside Floral, we created beautiful floral arrangements for our Shavuot tables. Take a look at our creations and cherish these moments with us!

Self Defense
The Jewish Women’s Circle celebrated Tu B’Shvat last month, empowered with a self-defense class led by the amazing Sharon Spungen, alongside the inspiring Nechamy. A blend of learning, strength, and community spirit. A big thank you to Sharon for equipping us with powerful self-defense techniques. A truly a fun and enlightening experience.
Latke Cook Off Competition
ReJew’venated
The Jewish Women's Circle came together and shared in an evening of unity, strength, and support. Nechamy reminded us of the importance of standing strong and proud together during these tough times, and we uplifted our spirits with beautiful songs and prayers for Israel.
Aubrey from Gathered Botanicals led a fantastic face mask workshop, where we learned how to create a personalized mask for our individual needs and even got to try it out on our hands. All the products were handmade with love by Aubrey herself. It was a fun and rejuvenating experience!
Mezuzahs & Mimosas
It was an amazing night of unity! The night kicked off with a mimosa bar and some delectable refreshments. We played an interactive get-to-know-you game and Nechamy shared some inspiring insights about the spiritual security of the mezuzah. The evening's highlight was undoubtedly the exquisite and unique glass fused mezuzah covers we created together. It was truly a night of creativity, unity, and bonding with the Jewish women of Grand Rapids.
Pre-passover paint night
The JWC ladies came together and indulged in delicious wines, cheese, salad and a mouth-watering mocha cake. Nechamy shared some inspiring words about Passover and the resilience of Jewish women throughout history. We all had fun unlocking our inner artist as we painted and decorated together these beautiful tambourines. (Miriam, Moses sister, led the Jewish women in song and dance with tambourines after witnessing the splitting of the Red Sea.) A special thank you to Michele and Joel Young for hosting us in their lovely home!
Salads & Succulents
It was a wonderful evening at the Jewish Women's Circle celebrating Tu B'Shvat! We had meaningful insights from Nechamy, delightful succulent arrangements led by Ellen Fishman, a delicious array of salads prepared by a team of amazing ladies, and incredible hosts, Keren & Avi Migdal, who opened up their beautiful home and created such a welcoming atmosphere. It was an evening full of friendship, food, and fun!
Pre-Chanukah Candle Making Workshop
We joined together for a fun-filled Pre-Chanukah event. We each created a unique scented candle and enjoyed delicious Chanukah refreshments. Exciting raffles were drawn throughout the evening and what would a Chanukah event be without a good game of dreidel with a twist. Nechamy shared with us some inspirational Torah thoughts on the power of spreading light to others and the symbolism of the Chanukah candles.
